Our Training Method
OC Mudo is a dynamic martial arts program that blends the core principles of Hapkido and Jujitsu into a cohesive, modern training system. Our innovative cross-training approach combines Hapkido’s joint locks, strikes, and fluid kicking techniques with Jujitsu’s grappling, throws, and ground control.
Mudo Defensive Tactics (MDT) Program
OC Mudo proudly offers the Mudo Defensive Tactics (MDT) program, specifically developed for law enforcement and security professionals. This program emphasizes practical, easy-to-learn joint locks and takedowns designed for safe and effective Arrest and Control Tactics (ACT). Our approach prioritizes control, compliance, and officer safety, ensuring techniques are applicable and reliable in real-world scenarios.
Hybrid Training
Today’s martial arts schools generally fall into two categories: traditional dojos that emphasize classical techniques often tailored for children, and modern MMA gyms that cater to teens and young adults aiming to compete in events like the UFC. Yet, there remains a dedicated group of individuals seeking a more practical path, a system rooted in traditional martial arts, but focused on real-world, street-effective self-defense.
While MMA and UFC-style competitions have showcased Jujitsu [BJJ] as one of the most effective martial arts in the cage, real-life confrontations are far less predictable. Street altercations often involve multiple attackers, potential weapons, and little room for prolonged ground fighting. To be truly prepared, a martial artist must be capable of defending themselves while standing, on the ground, and in tight, high-pressure situations.
At OC Mudo, we train students to become street-ready martial artists by instilling instinctive, repeatable responses through thousands of repetitions of Hapkido and Jujitsu techniques. With consistent partner drills and expert instructor guidance, students develop the muscle memory and confidence needed for real-world defense. Our mission is to equip every student with the skills and mindset necessary to handle real-life self-defense scenarios—drawing from the time-tested principles of Hapkido and Jujitsu.
